As of July 2024, the Bambusnest (bamboo nest), a joint project of Sandoase and MCH Group, will be bringing life to the historic round courtyard at Messe Basel with an exciting mix of beach bar vibes and food market. Located in the heart of the bustling city, the Bambusnest sees itself as an urban retreat with the focus on relaxation and encounters. This multi-generational meeting place features natural elements, a delightful variety of plants and a wide range of culinary offerings.

Two concepts for summer and winter

After-work vibes, refreshing drinks, delicious street food and a variety of events – from July to September, white sand and giant palms will create a holiday atmosphere in the round courtyard. Then, from October to March, the Bambusnest turns into a unique Winter Market. During the summer months, different bar and street food areas whisk guests away on an exciting culinary adventure with Asian bao buns, Italian pinsas, creative bowls, fruity cocktails and fresh smoothies. Then, just in time for the start of the autumn fair, the location undergoes a transformation into a trendy Winter Market. Colourful hustle and bustle, mulled wine, wintery food and electronic beats all take centre stage during the cold season. Small groups can feast on a hearty fondue in romantic gondolas and cosy yurts while, all around, visitors can taste the delicacies on offer at the numerous market stands and chat with one another in a relaxed atmosphere.
