Basel’s Messe-Quartier (MQ) is getting a new meeting place. We’ve had a great idea for ensuring that the city’s residents more readily associate exhibition square with a place where something’s always happening. As of 5 July, the Bambusnest project will be introducing an urban holiday feel to the round courtyard in Hall 2. Together with Sandoase, we’re transforming this spot into a multi-generational meeting place.
Fruity cocktails and smoothies await guests at the Beach Bar, while international dishes like pinsas, bowls and bao buns will be available in the Food Market. White sand and lush ornamental plants will contribute to the relaxing atmosphere. This new meeting place is aimed at attracting people to the Messe-Quartier all year round. The Beach Bar and palm-lined Food Market will be open until the end of September. Then, from October the Bambusnest turns into a winter market offering mulled wine, fondue and colourful market stalls. We’re delighted to be creating this new urban hotspot for local residents on Exhibition Square.
