We are delighted to be bringing Jurassic World: The Exhibition to Exhibition Square this October – an immersive experience for young and old alike and a must for dinosaur enthusiasts and fans of the Jurassic Park films. In a breathtaking setting with different themed areas, visitors encounter a life-size brachiosaurus, velociraptors and the tyrannosaurus rex.
After Mexico City, Melbourne and Manchester, this award-winning exhibition is opening its iconic “Jurassic World” doors in Basel on 11 October. Over eight million tickets have already been sold for the exhibition worldwide, delighting fans in major cities like Berlin, London, Chicago, Paris, Seoul and Shanghai. The exhibition has been produced in association with Universal Live Entertainment, NEON, Explorado and Animax Designs – the creators of the lifelike animatronic dinosaurs.
During the summer months, the historic circular courtyard was transformed into an atmospheric urban retreat with a beach feel to it, along with tropical plants and cocktails. The “Bambmbusnest” is opening again on 25 October, this time as a Winter Market with a yurt and gondolas, creating a cosy atmosphere that invites visitors to enjoy mulled wine and cheese fondue. From 26 October to 3 November, gourmets can revel in the Wine Festival staged in Hall 2.1, enjoying oenological delights and new culinary experiences.
Sporting city residents are also catered for in the Exhibition Quarter. At the new Padelwerk location in Hall 2, ball sports enthusiasts can now book not only individual padel courts but also badminton and pickleball courts.
The eighth round is starting soon – as of 23 October 2024, Kartbahn Basel (Season 8) is back in our Hall 1. Switzerland’s largest indoor go-kart track offers speed fans an environmentally friendly race track extending over more than 7000 square metres.
On 22 and 23 November, the V+ Winter Festival by Viertel Klub is being staged in our Event Hall. The line-up features international stars from the electronic music scene. Spectacular light shows, a first-class sound system and street food stands make for an indoor festival experience of a special kind. V+ celebrated its premiere in July with a fantastic party on Barfüsserplatz. And now the Viertel Klub is inviting people to the first edition of its winter festival.
