Spring Basel with a new concept

MCH Group is further developing its SPRING BASEL consumer fair to bring it even more into line with visitor requirements. The fair is being divided into two clearly defined formats, with different contents geared to the interests of different target groups.

The fair will kick off with the SPRING MUSIC SESSION, which is being held for the first time from 3 to 5 April 2025. This new format offers a highly varied musical experience with live performances and interactive music offerings. The event will provide music enthusiasts with an inspiring space for encounters and promote cultural discourse in the region.
On Wednesday, April 2, 2025, as part of the Spring Music Session, a band contest will take place! Talented bands from all genres can compete against each other in the contest – the application deadline is Friday, February 28, 2025.

This is to be followed in autumn 2025 by BASEL ACTIVITY, a cross-generational event with a family focus. It will feature interactive and experience-oriented formats inviting people to actively participate. Whether sporting activities, creative workshops or playful experience worlds – BASEL ACTIVITY will give visitors the opportunity to discover new things and experience unforgettable moments.

The decision to adopt this approach was based on the fact that the format employed for SPRING BASEL to date has not yet become established in the intended manner. “While fairs previously served primarily to present products, it is networking, interactive formats and community-promoting experiences that are the main focus today”, explains Roman Imgrüth, CEO Exhibitions & Events at MCH Group.

As part of its strategic focus on core areas, MCH Group is increasingly relying on partnerships to create sustainable experiences for visitors with innovative formats. The realignment of SPRING BASEL is being conducted in cooperation with the management of the Sandoase and Bambusnest, two eminent event organisers with a long track record of organising experiential events. Both parts of SPRING BASEL will be staged in the MesseQuartier Basel, which, with its state-of-the-art infrastructure and versatile options for use, provides the optimum conditions for music, cultural and leisure events.
